I imagine her to be a queen. You know, with the creepy immortal child thing going on. When I color her someday, her hair will be red and her eyes will be glow-in-the-dark, shiny green.

Her right arm is supposed to be going back into the space, but I didn't put the darn shadow on it so it looks gimpy now.

Maybe someday my lineart will match up with how awesome I imagine it's going to be.

Goats?

Yes. So, I'm working on two new pieces (that I can actually post) and one involves people from the 50s. I can't say more because it's a surprise for someone. I don't even have a thumbnail that I like, but here are some quick studies xD

I was drawing outside, and a small red bug decided to come and die on my paper.

As for the other one, it involves goats... Here is a pretty much finished thumbnail. I think. Maybe. I get fussy about these things. And some goat studying that happened.

Goats are cool.

Happy Sunday!

Here's a magical apple.
My coloring is pretty much the dumb, but I figured I'd upload this anyways.

HAPPY SATURDAY

I've been spending most of my art time working on illustrations for this children's book, which I can't upload seeing as how the book's not published yet.... So here are some faeries!

This first one is pictured with Brian Froud's hedgehog creature. That man's art books are my faerie bibles. Loved him since I was a little girl. I have whole notebooks filled with copies of his creatures from when I was ten or eleven. Most creatures I design today have a pinch of him in them.

"Sleepers"- A piece from 2009

Before I knew what I wanted my style to be, I did this, and it's very similar to the look I like to draw in now. I guess it stood the test of time, or something.

The Unicorn And Lir

Because I love The Last Unicorn. Bah, so many problems.

Falcon Lady

Wow! Okay. So. An art blog. Here we are, my very first upload.
The line-art for this was on my computer forever (I had to completely re-do it in photoshop) and I had no idea how I wanted to color it, but then I emailed the fabulous Emily Carroll wondering how the fudge she gets her textures to work for her so beautifully.

She gave me a fantastically helpful reply and I finally colored this thing!

Here's a closeup of this ballet-dancing-flying falcon-lady. I've realized that the deep-sea-fish monster looks kind of like rageguy.
